About Us

Originally set up by English Touring Theatre in the 1990's the Lyceum Youth Theatre LYT eventually became the responsibility of the Local Authority in the year 2000. Over the last 10 years the LYT has gone from strength to strength.

The workshops are built around creating a fun, inclusive environment that allows young people to flourish, developing their personal, social and transferable skills alongside their passion for performing arts. Although the LYT does a number of performances in the academic calendar its main focus is developing the knowledge, ability and passion for theatre of its members.

There are no auditions or restrictions to membership apart from a commitment from members to support each other, have energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn and, above all, have a love of theatre in its widest sense. Many of the past members have successfully gone on to drama colleges, teacher training and some have returned as tutors.

Fees

• 14 week term: £40 (£20 conc)
• 12 week term: £35 (£18 conc)
• 10 week term: £30 (£15 conc)

Fees need to be paid into the Crewe Lyceum Theatre box office within the first 3 weeks of the start of term. Payable in Cash, Cheque or Credit/debit card (admin fee charged). All cheques are payable to 'Cheshire East Council'.

If you have difficulty in paying fees please contact the team and a payment plan can be arranged.
