MANCHESTER CAMERATA ENSEMBLE This colourful programme full of sensuous and impressionistic French music, is directed by the incomparable Gordan Nikolitch. The concert opens with Syrinx, a piece for solo flute which gives the flautist great freedom for emotional expression, and is followed by two seductive and poetic works. Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro and Debussy’s Danse sacree et danse profane both include imaginative writing for the harp. The second half of the programme is devoted to one of the most sublime chamber works ever written, Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet. TALKING POINT: Take this free opportunity to enjoy a relaxed discussion with the musicians at 6.30pm in the Lyceum Theatre. Website: www.manchestercamerata.com
