Presented by Acton Amateur Operatic Society

Annie

Annie is set in December 1933, during the American Great Depression when many families lost their wealth, their homes and were forced to leave their children in State Orphanages. Annie a plucky red headed 11 year old, was left as a baby at a New York City Orphanage. Miss Hannigan the mean and cantankerous Orphanage Director, who's only comfort is a bottle of gin, hates little girls. One day Grace Farrell secretary to billionaire Oliver Warbucks, invites Annie to spend the Christmas holidays at his house, to the annoyance of Miss Hannigan who plots her revenge with her zany brother and dizzy girlfriend.
